Washington in a whirlwind!

Well, we've been back for 5 days now, and this is the first chance that I've had to update!

We had a great time in Washington. When we first got there, we thought we'd go see the American History Museum, since it was a little chilly out...we wanted to do more things indoors. So we had a nice little stroll and got there. Wow. What a huge museum! And the fact that this was only 1 in a whole series of buildings that make up the Smithsonian...well...needless to say, we didn't get to the others! But we did see a lot of cool things there. A lot of pop culture stuff, (like Dorothy's Ruby Red Slippers!)and the history of transportation, and all in all American Life. It was very cool.

After the museum we wanted to see the monuments. We walked for what seemed like a thousand miles...but it was worth everyt step! We saw the Capital Building, the WashingtonMonument, the Lincoln Memorial (which was my Absolute Favorite...Lincoln Rocked!), the White House (we kept an eye out for George, but I don't think he was home. :o(

We also saw the war memorials, WWII, Korea (both of which my dear Grandpa was in), and the Vietnam Wall, which was quite sobering. Both my dad and Erics dad were over there, and we discovered they were both MP (military police) as well. It was a cool, quiet moment.

Anyway...we went out to Ruth's Chris Steak House for dinner...and boy was it good! It was hands down the best steak I ever had in all my days! The fact that dinner cost more than our room that night (and we had a nice room at the Hyatt!) was a little disconcerting...but as Eric
kept telling himself over and over again (as if to
convince himself;o)), "it's worth it...nothing but the best for my girl!"

So my awesome husband told me that he wanted us to get away together 2ce a year from now on.

Am I not a lucky duck?
