A day in the life of me...

Location: Myerstown, Pennsylvania, United States

My name is Heather and I was born and raised in sunny Ca. I moved to Pa in march of 1997 and it was the Absolute Best thing I ever did! (Besides accepting Christ into my life, duh!) I've been married for 7 years to a wonderful guy, Eric, and we have 3 Beautiful kids...Brittani, 14 (she's technically my step-daughter, but in my heart she's mine <3), Baylee Rose, 5, and Travis Eric, 2 1/2. My kids are my absolute world! I love to scrapbook, when I get the time...which is not too often these days!

DC baby...yeah!!!

As I sit here eating my enchilada with sour cream and guacamole...I'm sooo excited! I got the "OK" from Eric to look into going to DC this weekend for our anniversary (7 years, wow)! I have lived on the east coast for almost 9 years now and I have yet to visit our nation's capital...except for the occasional jaunt through to get to the Baltimore/Washington airport, which, by the way, if you can get to without getting hopelessly lost than you are a much better navigator than I.

Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick little update and I'll post again Sunday night or Monday morning to let you all know how our little adventure went. Hopefully with an interesting picture or two!

p.s....in case anyone was wondering...I am soooo loving the gym! Yay! :o)

p.s.s....Oh yeah...I did finally get another roomie for the Retreat...thanks to my little Ju-Ju! If it weren't for you, asking for my lame little behind, than I'd be stuck at home pouting instead of going and having a blast, which I'm sure we will! I love you! And thanks to Kathy and Amy and Amy for having an open space at such late notice! Party time! Woo-hoo!

Car Bonding and the Great Toy Debate

Well, today is Presidents Day and instead of a nice relaxing day off, we have appointments up the ying-yang! Brittani has an eye appointment at 9:00 in the morning and a physical for track at 3:45 in the afternoon.
<<<Baylee has dance at 4:45...so hopefully we'll be able to make that. I may complain...but I lie. I love being busy with the kids. It gives us time to be together in a confined space (the car)! Although, Travis droning (in his Very Best Monotone Voice) " mom... mom... mom... mom..." in the back seat might be a little irritating, it's ok. And then of course, there is the Great Toy Debate that happens also, coincidentally, in the back seat. On any particular day you may have Baylee in one corner going, "Mooooo-oooom...I had this car fiiiiiirrst", and Travis in the other corner, "(screeeech) Myyyyy Caarrrr!".
It would actually be quite comical if you weren't 2 1/2 feet in front of them and trying to listen to Brittani next to you telling you something of abounding importance in a 13 year old's life. Well, now that I've secretly vented in the guise of updating...i gotta go get ready for our next round of appointments!

oohhhh...my soreness!

Remember how I said that I really wanted to join the gym? Well, yesterday I went for my "trial run" and boy do my muscles ache today! But...that's ok... it's a good ache (I guess...that's what I keep telling myself!) But seriously, it felt awesome to be back in the gym. Baylee and Travis absolutely LOVED the "Kids Korner"...they didn't want to leave! But you know, when your lungs hurt and you stink like sweat there's not a whole lot that can keep you from a nice hot shower!

Brittani is at her TI (Teens Involved) competition doing her "drama" today. I hope her team does well. We'll be going to watch her around 11:00. I'm so happy that shes getting involved in more Youth Group activities. Shes also going to be starting track at school. I'm so proud of her, shes such a tough little nut! After going through all that she has, hopefully she'll come out of it a strong, compassionate, confident girl who knows her self worth and won't ever let anyone take advantage of her. That's what we're trying to make her see anyway! I love her so much!

Well, I better wrap this up...got "stuff" to do! :o)

Dropped like a sack of hot potatoes

Ok...I'm a little upset. I may be a little oversensative, but let me just explain what happened.

My church has an annual "Ladies Retreat" every year. I've always roomed with my best friend Julie, and whoever else wanted to room with us. If you have 4 in your room, then the cost is a little less. Well, this year, on New Years Eve, another friend asked if we could room together. I said that sounds like a lot of fun, assumung Julie would room with us as well. As it turned out, Julie ended up rooming with 2 other ladies, one that works with her (who also comes to our church)and another which is completely fine. We don't really spend a lot of time in the room anyway...so it doesn't really matter. We always planned on hanging out together, no matter who we roomed with.
But I digress.
My problem is this...a couple of days ago my New Years Eve friend called me up and said that she felt really bad, but her sister in law just got saved, and she wanted to come to the retreat...but she only felt comfortable rooming with people she already knew and would it be ok if I roomed with Ju after all. I said no problem...honestly feeling that I would rather this SIL get some fellowship with the awesome ladies in our church, than to let her feel uncomfortable. My friend then said that she talked to Ju and she still had room for one more, which at the time, she thought she did. I thought ok...no problem. Well, after talking to Julie today...I come to find out that one of her other roomies had already invited someone else, leaving no extra room for me. I know this sounds like a bit of bad timing...but let me get to my point...the reason my New Years Eve friend didn't tell me sooner was this:

SHE FORGOT ABOUT ME.

And it was HER idea in the first place that we room together. If she had told me this sooner, I could have had plenty of time to find someone else to room with. But it totally makes me feel like her plans with me didn't merit remembering.

Do I sound like a big crybaby? I kind of feel like one...only because my self esteem is a little lacking with that particular person in the first place.

I'm lame...I know.

Valentines Day

Well, the actual "Valentines Day" around the Moyer house was a lot like any other day this year. It's not anyones fault...it's just that Feb. is Eric's "overtime" month and, bless his heart, he's been working 12 - 15 hour days. Although I have to say, I got some absolutely beautiful roses and daisies (my favorite flowers) and a beautiful card. And to top it all off I was told that I could go and join the gym (which is what I really, really wanted) on Friday. I'm so excited! He also got the girls each a beautiful, single pink rose. Lovely! Even though he's dog tired and can do nothing other than work for now, my wonderful, thoughtful husband managed to make this Valentines Day special.
Oh yeah...I also got him a Steelers Superbowl Championship shirt and a Steelers license plate cover for his truck...although I think it will probably go on a wall somewhere! And he better keep an eye on the shirt...I just may steal it for myself ;0)!!!

Hello world!

Well, this is my first ever post in anything! I've lurked around a lot of sites...but my Sister-in-law Amber finally inspired me to start one of my own. I've been thinking about it for a while now, so here it is!
